Target Regions or Countries Philippines, Lao PDR, Honduras, Jamaica, Kazakhstan, Sri Lanka, Fiji, Saint Lucia, Jordan, Namibia 4. Eligible / Target Organization Governmental or non-governmental organizations of/for persons with disabilities, where persons with disabilities are the leading figures in their organization 5. Total Number of Participants 10 participants 6. Language to Be Used in This Program English 7. Program Objective The capacities of the participants’ organizations are improved and the quality of life of persons with disabilities in their communities is enhanced. 8. Overall goal “Society for All” where full participation and equality of persons with disabilities are realized 9. Expected Module Output and Contents: This program consists of the following components. Details on each component are given below:

To prepare Personal /
Organization Report
The applicants are requested to prepare Personal/Organization Report on the subjects given in ANNEX-1 and submit it together with Application Form. Based on this report, a presentation will be made during the program in Japan.

To understand the importance of involvement of persons with disabilities in regional and national development Involvement of persons with disabilities in the formation of disability related policies and regulations (1) Political Participation through organization ⇒ Appeal to the civil society ⇒ Change the society (2) Visits to City of Hiroshima ⇒Understand close relation of conflicts and disability and importance of peace education

Lecture, discussion and site visits
  The participants are required to apply the knowledge and skills gained from the training in Japan to the situation in their own countries and to write a feasible plan which their organization can carry out in order to improve the situation of persons with disabilities. (1) Individual Training ⇒ Deepen the understanding of each participant’s own interest field ⇒ Acquire necessary information for Project Plan (2) Project plan writing and presentation skill ⇒ Useful tools for convincing others and obtaining external funds (3) Project Plan presentation

⇒Share what they learned from the program in Japan with other participants and related Japanese personals

Workshop, exercise and presentation
(3)Finalization Phase in a participant’s home country (December 2009 to June 2010)

Participating organizations produce final outputs by making use of results brought back by participants. This phase marks the end of the Program.

Expected Module Output Activities
To implement Project Plan and submit its progress report (1)Implementation of Project Plan and Submission of Progress Report ⇒ Participants are requested to implement Project Plan after returning to home countries and submit its Progress Report by June 2010. (2) Certification and Finalization

⇒ Participants who have successfully completed the course with submission of progress report to JICA will be awarded a certificate by JICA.
