6. Mar. 29 Cebu Doctor’s University (CDU), new campus building in Mandaue City Gave technical guidance to the new Cebu Doctor’s University in Mandaue City to include universal specifications in toilets, phones, switches, ramps, pool and auditorium. CDU Construction Supervisors

Met on-site at SWU’s elementary school comfort room facilities to discuss what changes to put in place to make it disabled-friendly and safe for the students of Guardian Angels School for Children with Orthopedic Disabilities. (The facilities were completed on July 26, 2007, making the SWU have the distinction of having the only set of toilets that are universal in standard in terms of grab bars and safety.)  
12. May 27 Chateau de Busay Resident Manager Inspected Chateau de Busay and gave technical advice on their toilet for universal specs. They were very receptive. 18. July 25 Management Division, University of the Philippines College Cebu Prof. Chaves called on Adela (old classmates) to inspect their ramp to the AVR. It was found to be too steep and recommendation was made to make a new one with a gentle slope as prescribed by law and this would be build alongside the front of the building. (Months later, it had already been corrected.) UP building administrator

Aug. 15 Cañizares of One Mango Ave. Mall Adela, upon the request of Arch’t JM Cañizares, went to check their One Mango building for access and give technical guidance on the universal access of toilets. So far, ramps were very satisfactory and the floors were of non-skid material. Toilet cubicles were also wide. Construction supervisor
24. Aug. 16 DOT Secretary Ace Durano at DOT Regional Office, Lahug, Cebu City Both gave a powerpoint presentation on the universal standards of access that would be desirable for implementation with the tourism industry, both for local & foreign guests. He was very open to our ideas and was grateful “for educating” him. While it is not yet law, he agreed it is good to add value to hotel amenities and prepare for medical tourism by making our hotels disabled-friendly. We left him a CD copy of our presentation. Sept. 27 Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes Both gave a powerpoint presentation on the universal standards of access that would be desirable for implementation with the industrial sector for the employment of PWDs. He said this would be one ordinance he would be supportive of, as he experienced having difficulty assisting his mother when she was on a wheelchair.
