Lecture and Discussion: ” Vocational Rehabilitation in Japan”Visit: “Chiba Vocational Center for persons with Disabilities”and Chiba Public Employment Security Office

Nine participants visited both Chiba Public Employment Security Office (PESO) and Chiba Vocational Center for Persons with Disabilities, which are in the same building for the sake of convenience and usefulness for persons with disabilities living in the community. Mr. hidenori Ueda, Director of Staff Training Division, Vocational Rehabilitation Department, Japan Association for Employment of Persons with Disabilities (JEED), and one of the planning committee members of this training course, gave us a lecture on “Vocational Rehabilitation in Japan.” At PESO a participant from Nepal tried to find a suitable job by using the computer system and at Vocational Center participants learned several kinds of vocational adaptation tests and evaluation. It took us about two hours to reach there by three different trains and we passed by “Tokyo Disney Land.” All participants seemed a bit tired so that no one drop by TDL and straight back TIC, their home sweet home.
